Waiting to Die

Waiting to Die

I grew up in one of the lowliest of all places. We played football in the open space beside an uncompleted building. There were a number of boys in the area. Most of whom are still resident there (that is not a bad thing) but are not progressing mentally, physically and spiritually.

A man must be exposed to three things for maximum change to occur. He must be exposed to information (wisdom and knowledge). Our mind is a virgin land, it does not know its potential. It does not know that greatness lies within and it will never know without information.
Information reveals what is possible and what you are capable of to you. Without information your life will be like the virgin land, hollow, shallow, uninteresting, not fascinating, and waiting for her death.
The man must be exposed to physical maturity and image building. How are you taking care of your body? Will your body last for the next 80 years with the way you are living? You take every take-able, smoke every smokey thing, drink every liquid put before you, inject every needle you find. You live dirty, walk around untidy without recourse to the fact that you are building an image. Can I be blunt with you? You are not living but you are only waiting to die.
You must grow mentally, and physically. Without this, you are only waiting to die.
The last thing you must be exposed to for maximum change to occur in your life is your spirituality. Hold on, before you think I’m ‘sermonizing’ you. A man is made up of Spirit, Body and Soul. That spirit part is spiritual whether you are a Muslim, hinduist, or christian.
You need to have a deep sense of self and a sense of purpose. You will want to live not just to make money but to make maximum impact. You will be able to see the future clearly from today. When you are not exposed to your spirituality, it means you are not exposed to your real self. When you are not exposed to your real self, you are not living, you are only waiting to die.
These three things made the difference between the boys that turned out better where I grew up and the boys who didn’t. Those who turned out better were exposed to Information that showed them what was possible. They were deliberate about their body and nurtured it for the possibility of the information they were exposed to. They tapped into their spirituality and brought out their sense of purpose and lived it.
Whatever you think you may have achieved, you are not even close yet. There’s a bigger and higher place for you but you need to check if the information you are currently consuming is good enough to take you there.
You need to check your body and lifestyle. If you continue with your pot belly, will the white house want to have a round tummy Strategist come address their assembly? Are you living healthy enough to even survive till the day your great opportunity shows up.
Lastly, stop doing everything. Tap into your spirituality and find that one purpose you are meant to fill. Lanre Olusola did it when he closed down 12 businesses to focus on one assignment and purpose. He is better for it. Same can happen for you.
Don’t wait to die, live abundantly to the satisfaction of the creation.
